    Introduction to DAS technology and how it can improve geophysical prospections in different context such as: VSP, reflection/refraction seismic, reservoir monitoring. Theoretical principles, data acquisition methodologies and application examples of the main surveying. Survey design approaches, processing techniques with hands-on practice, both on real datasets and actual field equipment.

    Learn the main survey and monitoring techniques with the growing cutting-edge technology of fiber optics applied to geophysical surveys.

  • Syllabus

    • MODULE DAS 1 - DAS, DTS applications Case studies - Fibre optics basics - DAS principles - DTS principles. Carina and XT DTS demo. Suitable cables- fibres/cable deployments. DAS Configuration parameters/best practices/Geophone comparison
    • MODULE DAS 2 - DTS Configuration /best practices-calibration. Designing a seismic DAS survey – good practices. Demonstrate cable mapping. Acoustic DAS Surveys. Data curation. session split into 3 groups to operate on DAS, DTS & Splicing, inspection scope, and OTDR training
    • MODULE DAS 3 - Piana Di Toppo hands-on experience
    • MODULE DAS 4 - Experiment design activity (groups of 4-5, present at the end of the session)
