This intensive, week-long training course provides a comprehensive introduction to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in environmental research and analysis. Participants will explore the foundational principles of AI and machine learning, with practical modules focused on supervised and unsupervised methods, model building, and real-world applications such as biodiversity monitoring, climate modeling, and remote sensing. The course also delves into critical ethical dimensions of AI, including data ethics, bias, surveillance, and regulatory frameworks like the AI Act. Designed for professionals and researchers, the course blends lectures, hands-on activities, and group work to equip participants with both technical skills and a critical understanding of AI’s role in environmental science.
