A large number of in situ and satellite oceanographic observations as well as ocean circulation model results are available nowadays. It is very important for future researchers to be able to navigate their way through this large supply, and the purpose of this course is to provide students with a detailed description of the available data. After an initial overview, portals and products specific to the needs of attendees will be explored in depth. It is expected that the course will enable them to orient themselves independently.
Students will acquire the ability to use major portals for accessing oceanographic data and model outputs in order to be able to find information needed for their current and future research activities.
